Sydney North: Ku-Ring-Gai National Park Aboriginal Walking Tour
Natcha Cultural Tours | Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Guring-gai Country
Walk the Country
That Remembers.
Sacred rock engravings, a smoking ceremony, and living culture on Guring-gai Country.
Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park holds one of the world's greatest collections of Aboriginal rock art. Etched into sandstone galleries across Guring-gai Country, these engravings are not museum pieces. They are living records, interpreted by a licensed guide with the cultural authority to share what they mean.
This three-hour experience takes you deep into the national park. Beginning with a Traditional Welcome Smoking Ceremony at a sacred midden site, you will visit ancient rock engravings featuring two remarkable whale carvings, walk to America Bay sacred space and waterhole, and take in the coastal views from West Head Lookout across Pittwater and Broken Bay.
This is not a history lesson. This is living culture.
What You Will Experience
Traditional Welcome Smoking Ceremony
The experience opens with a Traditional Welcome Smoking Ceremony performed by your Aboriginal guide at a sacred midden site. You are welcomed to Guring-gai Country and the significance of this ceremony is shared before the walk begins.
Rock Engraving Interpretation
Visit ancient rock engravings featuring two remarkable whale carvings, exclusively interpreted by a NSW National Parks licensed guide. These sandstone galleries hold thousands of years of cultural heritage, and you will hear what they mean from someone with the authority to share it.
America Bay Sacred Site and Waterhole
Walk to America Bay, a sacred space and waterhole on Guring-gai Country. Your guide shares the spiritual significance of this site and the stories of the Guring-gai people's deep connection to land and water.
West Head Lookout
Take in sweeping coastal views across Pittwater and Broken Bay from West Head Lookout. Your guide brings the landscape to life with cultural context that transforms what you see into something you will carry with you.
Cultural Discussion and Exchange
The experience closes with open conversation on Country. Approximately one hour is spent at each major cultural site, giving space for genuine exchange, reflection, and questions.
